What makes politics dirty? Politics is seen as dirty when corruption and selfish interests overshadow the public good. Politics is called dirty when people act selfishly or lie to gain power. Corruption and unfair deals harm society’s trust. Sometimes, personal interest and kind leaders are rare but essential. Clear politics needs transparency and care for people.
 
It's because the politicians are selfish and they do everything for their list and they never think about the common people. Not all the politicians are corrupt but politics is dirty and good people don't like to enter politics.
 
Indeed, some politicians are greedy for power and money. Only a very few politicians are dedicated to the populace. Most of them are crocs, shameless.
 
And the irony is we have made them like this. They enjoy on our money. I don't like politics and politicians.
 
It involved lies, like a lot of lies! When they are also in power they forget about the masses and satisfy their own selfish desires only. Selfishness and greediness.
 
It is actually a greed and power game. When individuals enter into politics, they lose their motive almost immediately especially when they started seeing the juicy part. Almost all of them will now be pursuing their selfish interest. It is unfortunate that politics can be a noble activity but people only exploit it to get their own personal gains. This is what makes it so dirty to me. A lot of lies and false promises everywhere.
 
Over the years that I have seen things happen in politics, one thing I have always noticed is how most politicians tend to lie to get to a place they want to be, for example, lie and make promises to get votes in an election, then not keep those promises.

I have also found that politicians tend to take what they can with no thought of the consequences to the country.

These are two reasons why I would call politics dirty.
