Generative AI is a huge deal right now, everyone is using it, even big companies trying to save a quick buck. I've used AI to help me answer questions, help me find info online, and even generate some images from time to time. But we have to remember that our data is being used to train these generative AI bots and tools. So when are these companies going to be regulated by the government to the point they can't just create whatever they want?

For example, AI can now be used to make highly realistic images, and videos. The problem here is that we're going to start to see it used for nefarious reasons. We're already seeing it abused for adult means, like making pornographic images of celebs or anyone. These tools are becoming so advanced that one day, we may have a hard time telling what is real and what isn't. Not only that, but there's likely to be a lot of people abusing these AI tools to fake things about people. There was even a report a while back about a high school gym teacher who was fired because of a AI created image showed him doing something illegal. Come to find out the image or video was fake and made with AI.

So, I think it's time we regulated AI in some way, or at the least hold these generative AI companies responsible when their tools are used for nefarious reasons, like making an adult image of someone without their consent or attempting to falsify a crime to get someone fired or arrested. It's going to be a problem very soon with how real AI has gotten.

What are your thoughts on this?

I believe some Gen AI tools should be banned. Fir instance, why should have a tool like deepfake or voice cloning. These tools raise a lot of ethical issues.
I think all Gen AI tools need to be regulated in some way. I don't mean to cancel or ban them, but to see laws enacted, or some kind of rules that don't allow the abuse of Gen AI. And that includes using it to make deepfakes of real people and even on real events, or to lie about people and others. It's a scary thing to think about, because who knows when Generative AI gets to a point that it looks too real, because when that day comes, we're going to see a lot of misinformation, lies, and outright fake content.

Yes i believe it needs to be regulated to some extent, cause there are so many persons abusing the use of it right now.

I often now say that I am worried and scared of what AI can accomplish, and I have seen it used in ways to trick and manipulate people online. Even on TikTok, the videos I have seen that are AI-generated are scary and should not be allowed at all.

I do think the government needs to step in and regulate AI as soon as possible, as I see it getting out of hand way too fast and quick if nothing is done.

Wow, this is a very interesting topic to discuss. My take is yes, regulation seem to be necessary now than ever and that's when there are AI detection tools. We need to talk about content ownership and misinformation more. But my fear is that it might stifle innovation if it's handled poorly.
