How do you stay motivated when working toward long-term goals, especially when progress feels really slow and the end seems so far away? Do you break big goals into smaller milestones to celebrate along the way or do you just keep your eyes on the final prize?

I struggle with this because it's easy to stay fired up for the first few weeks but then motivation fades and discipline has to take over. What tricks or mindset shifts help you push through those middle months when the initial excitement is gone but you're still nowhere near finished?

Sometimes, my mood is down and I lack motivation, I won’t lie. What helps me is breaking those big goals of mine into smaller steps. I remember when I started a project last year, I wanted to quit on different occasions, but I had to break things down into bits and mark progress every week, even if it's a tiny improvement. And I don't usually forget to reward myself by eating something nice or by just having enough rest. Plus I also get encouraged each time I think about why I started the project. That is what also motivated me.
