Floods kill 30 and submerge 1,400 villages in Indian state

The north Indian state of Punjab suffered flooding and torrential rains that have affected over 354,000 people and claimed at least 30 lives. After rivers and reservoirs swelled to almost dangerous levels, authorities declared all 23 districts in the state to be affected by flooding. Approximately 20,000 people have been evacuated from low-lying and flood-affected areas, and hundreds of relief camps have been established to give the impacted families a place to stay and basic amenities.

Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, urged the nation to "stand by the state" and said that these floods were the worst the state had experienced since 1988.

This year because of excessive rainfall everywhere in India things have become so disastrous.images (11).jpeg

This is a very scary news. 1,400 villages? I'm thinking about the people who lost their homes, crops, and maybe family. Nature can be very disastrous if care is not taken. I remembered when a little flood happened in my area last year, it destroyed a lot of things and it is not as bad as this one. This reminds us that we seriously need better disaster preparation everywhere.
