Do music awards shows such as the Grammys still matter?

We see it all the time, music awards such as The Grammys, The Mama Awards, MTV Awards, Brit Awards, and they are even still popular today.

Do you feel these kinds of music awards still matter in the music world today?

Honestly, not as much as before. These days, I think that the artists have realised they don’t really need Grammy to prove anything. Fans and streaming numbers talk louder now. Look at Burna Boy, Wizkid, and even Tems, they’ve really shown the world that recognition can come from home too. Don't get me wrong, the Grammy is still very great, but it doesn't carry that same excitement it used to.

For someone like me, it has never really mattered cause i have never watched it or even have any music or artists i am rooting for. For the fans ans musicians on the other hand, I believe it is worth it.
