The clocks will be going back tonight in the UK, meaning we will gain an extra hour, but the nights will get darker. I don't mind when the clocks go back, but usually when they jump forward, I get annoyed as we lose an hour.

Do the clocks go back where you live? When do they go back?

That means I would have to call one hour later the usual time that I used to call to reach my cousin in the UK. It is also good for those that have UK clients from my country. It means timelines for their work has increased by an hour. My country doesn't have daylight savings and the clock stays the same all year round with no changes. Premier league matches would be watched an hour later my time.

New Zealand had it go forwards the last Sunday of September.
That would make sense :) we go forward in the spring too in the UK, and fall back in the fall, autumn :)

I had no idea New Zealand did this as well :)

Fun fact there's one tiny little town in New Zealand that's 45 minutes time difference with the rest of New Zealand :o
That is crazy! I always thought no matter where in the world you were, it would always be the same time in minutes, just the hours would be different!

You learn something new every day!

From Google

"The Chatham Islands standardized their time in 1868 to 12 hours and 15 minutes ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), then the world's time standard. Even though the Standard Time Act 1945 set the time in New Zealand to UTC+12, the Chatham Islands informally set their clocks 45 minutes forward of the mainland."

I think perhaps because it's an island it's different but it's still part of New Zealand.

That is interesting :)

We are not really bothered about clocks going back because we don't do it here. But I've got cousins in the UK who always complain about it bitterly. They say the extra hour of sleep is ok but the early darkness is very depressing sometimes. Since it does not happen here, I can't really relate to that.
