Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is ditching skill-based matchmaking!

Skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) is being ditched in Call of Duty Black Ops 7, and it would seem many are super happy with this!

Are you happy to see SBMM gone in Black Ops 7?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is dumping SBMM (skill-based matchmaking) as we've known it for the past few years. SBMM has been a highly controversial topic in the Call of Duty community, as it means players are constantly matched against people of a similar skill level, which in turn leads to nonstop, highly competitive matches — not necessarily the experience one is looking for unless they are playing ranked. It was assumed long ago that SBMM would be a big part of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, as data has shown that it is effective at retaining more casual players. Despite many vocal Call of Duty fans online voicing their displeasure with SBMM, it has remained a fixture of the franchise in recent years.

Finally, some good news! In my opinion I think removing SBMM is one of the best thing they have done in this lifetime. I just want to play for fun, I do not subscribe to sweating at every match like it is a tournament. To be honest, I sincerely miss when games were so chilling and so relaxing. I do hope they keep up to that ideas as that might many of us to start to play again

Have to agree with you on this one! I used to enjoy COD because it was chill and laid back, but it became more like I was competing in tournaments all the time, and I eventually lost interest.

Very happy to see they made this change, and looking forward to seeing how it goes after launch.
