What a lovely and thought-provoking song: Once There Was a Love- Josee Feliciano

It is a very wonderful song. I have just heard it today, and I felt my head crumble, hitting the bottom. Just imagine the love felt by the persona, deep as the ocean, but its deepness has a shallow portion for a hidden betrayal. Though the love was long ago, it seems hard to forget as long as the heart continues to beat. It was hard for anyone who experienced the love of life walked away on a lonely day, leaving you in deep sadness, and the injury felt stunned, the emotion that cannot be erased till eternity. I am so much affected by the lyrics of the song, its melody, and the voice of the singer that seems to bring all those pains together and forever in crucial and critical situations, only love could cure. Oh, what love is...;)

ONCE THERE WAS A LOVE

Once there was a love.
Deeper than any ocean
Once there was a love
filled with such devotion.
It was yours and mine.
To hold and cherish
and to deep for a life time.
Then you went away
on that lonely day
Once there was a love
Now I don't know how I can go on
Some how I feel so all alone.
Wondering where I've gone wrong.
Once there was a love
that will never come again
So let's not pretend.
Once there was a love
But that was long a go.
Now i don't know how i can go on
Somehow i feel so all alone.
Wondering where I've gone wrong.
Once there was a love
that will never come again
So let's not pretend.
Once there was a love
But that was long a go.
END.

That track is quite extraordinary. The manner in which he performs it with gentleness and passion really strikes you deeply. Tunes, from that period have emotion unlike these hurried drops we often see nowadays. If you've ever experienced love or a breakup, the words will resonate with you. I enjoy listening to it at night when it's calm.

It remains one of those tunes that retain their appeal regardless of how much time goes by. Its straightforwardness is what gives it strength. You can listen to it in a space on a lengthy journey or simply while unwinding by yourself. Tracks like this show you why vintage hits continue to be cherished these days.
