Big news for Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 fans. Nintendo have announced that Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 will be coming to both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. This was announced by Nintendo during their Super Mario 40th Anniversary Celebrations.

Nintendo has announced the beloved Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are headed to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, as part of Super Mario's 40th anniversary celebrations.

Both titles will arrive as a combined physical release, on October 2, 2025, and will also be offered digitally as separate purchases. Additions to both games for these new versions include boosted resolution (up to 4K on Switch 2), an improved UI, a new in-game music player, and the option to play using button and stick or motion controls.
