In an effort to rework its overseas operations, Square Enix is letting go of over 100 employees across the US and UK in mass layoffs.

It is so sad to see people lose their jobs this way. That's families of over a 100 people left with no job to sustain themselves. This goes to show how AI will take over some jobs if we don't adapt and upskill as humans.

This layoff thing as become a norm in the gaming world now. It’s sad, honestly. I feel bad for those people, especially since the gaming industry are not stable like it used to be. Imagine working years on a project, then boom, you’re out. I get that companies want to “restructure,” but it still hurts. I just hope they all find better opportunities soon.
