A brand new Yoshi game has been revealed by Nintendo and was one of the last things they announced to cap off their Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary announcement!

Nintendo capped off its Super Mario Bros. 40th anniversary announcements at the September 2025 Nintendo Direct with the announcement of a brand-new Yoshi game for Nintendo Switch 2 called Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

The new Yoshi game’s announcement was accompanied not only by the promise of a spring 2026 release date but also a solid look at gameplay, too. It’s a reveal that showed off Yoshi and the Mysterious Book’s art style, a few familiar mechanics, and even some new characters.
