Mid morning snacks.

Do you have a habit of having mid morning snacks or drinks? Well, I an a diabetics and so short and frequent meals are my way to go. We get a mid morning break around 10:30 AM at our school. The school serves tea/coffe/herbal tea to the teaching and non teaching staffs. We have 20 minutes break and I like to grab some bite to let my sugar be in control. I have breakfast around 7:45 in the morning. And my lunch is between 1_1:30 in the afternoon. This mid morning snacks is important for me. I would generally have some fruits, nuts, or some homemade healthy snacks in this break. Today I had pomegranate in the mid morning snacks.
How about you? Do you have such kind of snacks between meals?

The mid-morning snacks depend on my mood oh. If I’m home, it’s usually puff puff and chilled Coke. But on workdays, I go for meat pie or plantain chips with groundnut. Sometimes I even just take garri with milk, it's old school but it's so sweet. I don’t like heavy food in the morning, it makes me sleepy. Small snacks just help me stay sharp till lunch.

@uptrendfinancialsignal . I know of few people who like to stay light till lunch. Mine is just opposite. My breakfast is the heaviest meal of the day. Being a diabetic I can't stay empty stomach for long. My mid meals healthy snacks help to maintain my sugar level.
@Starmix . You sound very health conscious and watchful about your food. Really admire that discipline. Milk is a good mid meal option if there is no issue with dairy products. It is wholesome, nutritious and keeps you full for long.

I'm so sorry to hear you are diabetic. You need to watch your food and the liquid you drink. That sickness can be cured this time. You just need to sweatout.

@Starmix . I am not type 2. So, it is not reversible for me. I am insulin dependent from a very young age. But yes, I am very mindful and follow a very healthy lifestyle including my diet. With all this I have beautifully managed my sugar levels for decades now.
I am so glad to hear about it. Health is wealth, and thankfully, your diabetes is not serious. My best friend died at a young age because of diabetes. Her leg was amputated , and because of that she was always sad and had a sudden heart attack that led to her demise.

@Starmix . I am so sorry to hear about your friend. It's terrible that she died at such young age. Whenever one is dealing with any chronic illness, negative emotions are unavoidable. Mental and emotional health gets impacted because of all that. It becomes very important for anyone to take care of their mental and emotional health too along with their physical illness.

@Ginger. Fruit is an ideal snack. Yummy, juicy and a healthy choice. I love fruits and have no fuss about having fruits at any time of the day. Fruits and nuts are my go to snacks anytime. I love them and they are diabetic friendly too. Fruits also satisfy my sweet cravings.
@Sanjeev . That's a healthy practice for diabetics, eating small meals at small intervals. We are not meant for fasting or feasting. We need to just make some right choices around our diet and lifestyle to manage our lives in a healthy way.
