I remember a few years ago I used to be more active on Facebook and Instagram and used to spend at least 4-5 hours a day on them. But not now; now I have realized that these apps are of no use; they make you addicted to them, and that's how they earn. Nowadays I rarely use them. What about how much time you spend on these apps?
During the pandemic when classes were held online, I used Facebook many hours in a day to communicate with my students from section to section via FB Messenger. I also created two societies on Facebook
I actually spend like 2–3 hours daily there, sometimes more if I am very bored. What I do mostly is scrolling, watching funny videos, checking gist, and sometimes I compare myself with others, which I know is bad. But I try to maintain a healthy balance though, because too much of social media can stress you out and also waste your precious time. Sometimes, you would find me laughing nonstop at memes or short videos, especially on TikTok. To be honest, it relaxes my mind after work. Social media to me is a double-edged sword, on one hand, it's great for entertainment but it can also waste your energy and time if you don't control yourself. Right now I try to set boundaries, like not using the phone before 7am or after 11pm.
