How long does it take you to memorize a song?

When I listen to any song I like for the first time, I start to memorize the lyrics gradually. If it is a song I like and I play it daily it can take me two days. But if I just play it once in a while then it take me about a week.

It takes lots of time for me to memorize the lyrics of a song now a days. I remember in my childhood I used to memorize the songs while listening at once but not now a days, may be I am getting memory loss with the age.

I can't tell exact time but if the song is good I can memorize in few days. Nowadays some old songs also trending in youtube which I watch repeatedly and memorize.

I'm the type that doesn't learn the lyrics to most of the songs I listen to. I think the only songs I somewhat know the lyrics to are ones by the comedy band Flight of the Conchords. I listened to their music so much, that I know some of the lyrics to some of their songs. Now days I don't listen to them as much, so I probably forgot most of the lyrics anyways.

When I listen to music, sometimes the lyrics go over my head and I just focus on the sounds. Also I often am doing other things when I listen to music, so it's kind of background noise to what I am doing.

Well as we grow older we find it hard to do easily the things we used to do back then. I guess that is just what comes with age. But even at that if you set your mind to know the lyrics, it should only take you a few days of listening actively. What can help you faster is to listen and read the lyrics at the same time.

Depending on the song and how often I listen to it depends on how quickly I learn to memorise the song.

Three new songs just this year alone, Don't Say You Love Me by Jin from BTS, Mona Lisa and Killin' It Girl by j-hope from BTS, I have memorised, but I have also listened to those songs a lot this past year and saw one live in concert

It really depends. An easy pop tune with a good chorus may take me a day or two. But if it's with crazy words or lyrics, that can take weeks. I tend to repeat it and repeat it till it becomes stuck. I used to sing it in my head when walking because that way I can memorize it easily.
