One common methods a lot of website owners use is giving freebies to drive traffic. For example, they offer free eBook, templates, downloadables, etc. in exchange for email subscription. People love free content that adds value, so they subscribe for emails. Once the website owners build email list, they will send regular emails and bring in traffic. Have you tried building a loyal audience through this method?

This might not work well in the long run. Freebies can attract them, but will it keep them or it will just be for a short time?

Yeah, I’ve tried that before. I gave out some eBooks and I even donated some points I accumulated on paid to post forums in exchange for posting and that has attracted many visitors. But the only issue there is that not all of them stay after collecting the free stuff. So now I mix it now, sometimes freebie, sometimes just good content.

I am doing it in my offline business, not on my website. My business is selling milk tea in the mall. I have two staff members who take good care of my business. I am giving freebies twice a month. It is truly an appealing tactic to lure customers. They will be encouraged to buy my milk tea. Some of them became my regular customers.
