Do you have a stage fear or you had it in your childhood?

No, I didn't have a stage freight during my elementary years up to the tertiary level. I was trained by my parents. I was also the contestant for a quiz bee, poetry recital and debate. When I was in high school I was the editor in chief of our school paper up to the tertiary level at the university. I always like to have a show down. I was also also a student leader and an activist, and a rock band member during my university days.

I lived with stage fear for a very long time and yes, I had it before. Back then in secondary school,a teacher forced me to read a poem in front of the class. My voice started to shake immediately like I was catching a cold. I even forgot some lines, but as time went by, I started to gain more confidence and I stared doing some presentations here and there. And the stage fear was reduced. Now, I'm still nervous sometimes, but I think I can do it and once I start to talk for like 30 seconds, the fear will disappear. So, taking the first step is the hardest part.

I naturally had stage fear. And that is because I grew up with inferiority complex. I had to overcome it when I started playing music actively. Being a pianist means that I always had to perform on stage. That really helped me to ward off some of those stage fright. And then, I started performing vocals too and the stage fright was completely gone.

I think when we grow up and start practicing, we eliminate this fear. I had such a fear in childhood but not now when I am grown up and daily have to talk to a group of workers at work.
It's understandable and with time it goes away. Although these days almost all kids are pushed to participate in different events and that helps them in growing their confidence
