Can anything be owned on rent?

I was reading about an app called "Rent a Friend," which arranges a friend on a paid basis to spend time with you. Similarly, there is an app that arranges parents for a person when you pay them. Is it not strange?

People these days are not able to find friends for themselves and have to pay to own them to share their feelings.

Do you have enough relationships to share your emotions with them? Or sometimes you need to think of renting someone to kill your loneliness.

Honestly, this world is turning something else. "Rent a friend" is so strange to me. However, on a general note, I feel like once you’re renting something, it’s never really yours. You’re just borrowing it with conditions attached. Even if you pay for years, a little issue with landlord or company and they’ll collect it back. I’ve rented cars and houses before that sense of ownership is not complete. But it still makes sense for flexibility. Not everyone can buy things outright. I prefer to rent sometimes, especially gadgets. At least if it spoils, it’s not my headache, lol.

We live in an era where people are able to rent anything at all. I mean practically anything. Growing up, the word, "rent" was synonymous with a house. It then expanded to cars. Nowadays, people can rent husbands and wives. Someone has actually rented me as her boyfriend to an event. The offer was too much for me to reject and I put up as her boyfriend for the duration of that event.
