No, I don't think so. A student won't be able to focus on the studies if he engages himself in earning. Somewhere his academics will suffer for sure. They must focus on their studies first and after completing it, should think of any other thing.
They are already on the roads in few countries, it will take few years to run in most of the world. I am not sure if they will be safe or not. But that's for sure it will take away jobs of many people across the world.
