Halloween 2025 Have you planned or bought your costume?

.
Here, we don't know what is Halloween so no costume bought. Yes, Diwali is approaching so will buy new clothes soon.
Even I did not know of Halloween till I visited the US and the UK..I stayed in those two countries for almost 13 years. My daughters picked up this celebration with their school friends there. And when we moved to India, here in our apartment we have few expat families and even children with one parent from the US. So, the tradition continued. Now, my daughters are grown up and are not excited that much about costumes. But yes, the younger children in the apartment carry on with costumes and trick or treat.

I don't have any plans to dress up this year, but my daughter has been wanting to for some years now, but we have never been able to afford the costume she wanted to wear. This year we can, and she is super happy, as the inspiration came from a BTS member, Jin and she has for many years now wanted to dress up in this costume.

He recently wore it at one of his tour dates as part of the Super Tuna performance, and every time I see it, I find it that much funnier

@eLdavis . Even Halloween is not so well known here. With global influence through digital platforms, people have started knowing it. Enjoy your Halloween movies Have you selected some to watch?
@Shortie . Good that this year you can afford that costume for your daughter. She would be on cloud nine. She seems to be ARMY. Even my daughter is a big fan of BTS.

She is, we are both ARMY and was very happy to be able to go see Jin live this year :) so very much excited to be able to dress up in this suit :)

I haven't planned any costume for this year. I've considered getting dressed up, but have no clue what I'd be. I'm a heavy guy too, so it's not easy to come up with costume ideas where I can find proper clothes to fit. But I have thought of going as fat Thor, a fat version of Jason Mamoa from Aquaman and THe Justice League. I have long hair and a beard so I like to think I look like a fat Jason Mamoa lol.

I haven't selected any yet though, but am sure i we definitely find some by next month before Halloween.

@Bremaine @eLdavis . Halloween is just around the corner. And I assume that you two would have decided about the costume and maybe even bought one. @Bremaine . We all come in different shapes and sizes. We have to enjoy life, being heavy should not be a hindrance for you to not go in the costume that you like. I hope that the costume is ready.
We don't celebrate Halloween over here, so I won't be buying any but i we definitely be watching some horror movies though.

Oh! I see. I read that in your earlier post but just missed it while replying. Here too, it is not well known. But in the last one decade, with global influence, younger generations have started picking it and now even the older ones are catching the infection. But yes, this is limited to big cities that have more of global influence. Small cities still don't know about it.

@uptrendfinancialsignal . Yes, having too many options can be overwhelming and it can actually confuse you. It would be good to have something simple and reusable. One would not like to spend some good money for a costume that can be used only once. Having something reusable will be a wise thing to do for budget. And I strongly feel that simple costumes at times are more impressive. Hope you find something good suiting your needs soon.

True, there are some people in my country who celebrate it, they even throw indoor parties but like you said, it is mainly limited to big cities.

No. I don't 'do' Halloween. I have no problem with anyone else doing it but I don't see the point. Also it is too close to the date my mother died. She died on the 29th.

It's okay. Sorry about your loss. It's hard to overcome loss of parents. And such dates do bring memories and emotions. 29th October is my mom's birthday. She will be 70 this year.
Halloween happens to be my younger daughter's birthday. It's birthday celebration at our place.
Take care.
