Chess is an interesting game. I know how to play, but I am not a good player. I used to play in childhood, but when I grew up, my interest went down, and I stopped playing it because it's a very slow game. My daughter is a good player of it, but she also stopped it, as she says it's a boring game. What about you? Do you play chess?

No I do not play chess at all, I have other hoard games that I enjoy playing like scrabble. I have tried to understand how chess is being played but I guess it is not just for me. So I just quit and went with what I can do.

I also play other board games but chess is always a different game as one needs to apply lots of mind to play it.

Of course, I am a chess player. I started learning chess when I was 12 years old.I was the representative in our department during my university days. I was always the champion during Intramurals.

I can play chess a little, but I’m not saying that I'm a grandmaster. I learned back in secondary school because one guy used to always beat me and that was what peppered me enough to learn. These days, I only play once in a while on my phone. It’s actually relaxing, but to be honest , it's a very tough game. One wrong move, you are out. I like how it forces you to think ahead. But I’m not addicted or anything. It's just casual thing for me.

I don't consider it to be relaxing because you have to apply your mind intensively, and when you have to apply your mind to anything, you can't relax. I am also not a good player of it, but I know various moves through which I can beat others.

If you only learned chess when you were a kid, most likely, you can become a good chess player. You can defeat your opponent. When I played with my young nephews, they cried a lot when they were defeated, so I let myself be defeated and felt so amused to see innocent kids happy in their winning.

I love to play chess, it's my favorite game. Not boring at all for me and I actually get distressed when playing it.
All my kids know how to play it, and the little ones already know how to move pieces. I don't let them win, the day they do, then, that will be a true win.

@Mike30 That's fine, but very few people I know who say that playing chess distresses them . It's a mind game, and anything that is done by the mind can't relax anyone, from what I feel. My elder brother is a master of chess; he never lets me win a game.

Chess playing is also mentally nerve-cracking. You have to focus on your opponent's move to avoid checkmate. If you love to try it, proceed, just for fun and mental exercise. I am only in our family wo can play chess, others are afraid lol. But my young nieces and nephews are very eager to learn, and they are now doing well at their young ages, 7, 8, and 10.

I will check it this weekend. I am at work from Monday to Friday. I am so sure, I can't bet you . When I started working, I seldom played chess, but I am so sure that I am still good at it , lol.

Actually I got almost to 1900 this week (I am trying to hit it )
Mi highest ever was 1929 rating.
